frequently asked questions
Q: What causes pinhole leaks?
A. Pinhole leaks are caused by piping material that is at the end of it’s life expectancy, various chemicals used in the public water system, electrolysis, and high water pressure.
Q: What is the best water heater?
A: Water heaters purchased at a professional plumbing supply house because replacement parts are easier to get in the future and warranties are covered more seamlessly.
Q: What is your service area?
A: We service Woodstock, Alpharetta, Roswell, Marietta, Milton, Canton, Kennesaw and Acworth.
Q: Can I use Drain-o in my drain?
A: Only if the drain is partially flowing. Do not use it if the drain is completely stopped up. It will rot pipes and harm the plumber. Call a plumber instead.
Q: What can I put down my garbage disposal?
A: Only small scraps on plates. Do put any fibrous foods or meats down the disposal. Do not use the disposal as garbage receptor.
Q: Should I shut off my outside hose spigot in the winter?
A: Yes, better safe than sorry.
Q: What are the best faucets to buy?
A: Personal preference of the home owner, but make sure that replacement parts will be easily available. Stay away from inexpensive internet faucets.
Q: How often should my plumbing system be inspected?
A: It’s wise to have your overall plumbing system inspected yearly. Your plumber can recommend replacements as needed which could avoid costly and unexpected repairs in the future.
Q: Should I flush my water heater?
A: You should flush your water heater every year after installation. If your water heater is over three years old and you have never flushed it, do not start now. This could cause leaks due to calcification in the water heater.
Q: How long will my water heater last?
A: Generally, water heaters last through the warranty period which is usually 6-8 years.
Q: How do I get more water pressure in my shower?
A: Clean your shower head by soaking it in vinegar or buy a shower head that allows more GPMs (Gallons Per Minute) through.
Q: Can you pull a permit for a job?
A: Yes, only licensed plumbers can pull permits in the state of Georgia.
